Convolution

Any chance we’ll see that convolution reverb in the near future?

  • Wouldn’t we have seen iPhone version, audio tracks and convo reverb by now if it wasn’t for all the issues with AU most of which were due to the AU’s themselves if I am not mistaken?

    Definitely yes. Work in progress.

Totally and deeply true. AU fixes and AB implementation killed it for literally months :(

  • Is convolution reverb better then Algoverb.

A convolution reverb can literally sound like anything if you have the right IR file. It can sound like Algoverb or it can sound like a totally different reverb or a specific physical space. It uses more CPU but its versatility is on a completely different level.

yeah it opens door for very creative expriments - you can load into it instead of classic reverb response for example some melodic / rhythmic loop and then apply this loop as "reverb response" to processed audio... VERY interesting posibilities ..

check this video, here is guy ilustrating this concept in FL studio

There’s A pretty nice AU IR Loader available now. The IAP for the AUv3 is $2.99 US.

Rooms! - Audio Recorder by Markus Sigg https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rooms-audio-recorder/id572894725

It works great with NS2, and best of all, adapts to fit in the odd sized AU FX display space without any resizing.

  • Is convolution going to be a free upgrade or add on.

  • convolution reverb in NS is planned as IAP
