analog mode vs wavetable mode

edited December 2020 in General chat

hi,

is obsidian analog mode a variation of wavetable mode with added controls (pwm, sync, etc.)?

waveforms look identical even at extreme frequencies

(saw/C -2/analog mode)

(saw/C -2/wavetable mode)

(saw/C8/analog mode)

(saw/C8/wavetable mode)

thanks

  • yeah of course it is basically very similiar principle (wavetable oscillator is a bit advanced version becasue it can crossfade between different waveforms, which basic VA oscillator can't))

this is one of most common methods of generating basic oscillator waveforms in DSP synths, because generating waves mathematically would be really CPU expensive ..

  • thanks for the info dendy
