Default Project Template not empty?

When I create a new project, using the default template, it is already filled with some tracks.

Is that on purpose, or a mistake?

Just curious, maybe there is a reason that I don't understand - otherwise, I would try to empty this template.

  • Yeah, I don't care for that either. I simply emptied the tracks and saved my own "empty" template.

  • I think it’s there just to get people started, rather than staring at an empty screen wondering what to do, if they are new to it of course.
    As you say, you can just wipe the tracks and save your own template.
    I’ve got used to using the default now, it just saves me a few steps.
  • Create a project and set it up how you like it (eg. track layout, artist name in notes, your picture etc.).

    Save that project as Templates/Default.

    It will then use that as the default template when you create new projects.

    Go to sleep, you deserve it! :-)

    I know how to change the template, the question was more if the template is so on purpose (so, with some reason I don't understand) or just a mistake.

    From your answer, I assume it was a mistake.

    @tja

    its on purpose.. it's simple project with similiar track structure like new project in NS1 ... its mostly for total newbies to avoid confustion "what i should do first" in case that new project will open completely empty... this way they can immediately start play

    OK, thanks. Going to modify for my needs :-)

  • To be honest I kinda liked something there at the beginning, even though I will make my own once I’ve rolled a few ‘my’ sounds

  • I like it as well... Now that I'm getting my head around the management of tracks I'll want to create my own template for different types of track anyway, and the default templates do cover the basics IMO.
