I’ve not tried to be honest. I use GeoShred as an instrument, but I can see the advantages as using it as a midi controller too. I will try it in the NS2 midi fx slot, but as you can’t record midi from that slot as yet, it’s unlikely it would be much use. As for sending in external midi, I’m haven’t been doing that with…

Yes I guessed at it being an AU midi issue (Midi Fx), as it’s the same for LS (no AU midi) and BM3 and NS2 (norecording from AU midi). As Brambos has posted here before, AU Midi has undergone some changes, hence the new AU FX moniker used now. When most say AU midi or AU Fx they actually just mean midi coming from the AU…

The weight of the lower keys made the app too heavy? =)

You can go as low as C#-1 with transpose
-
I’ve had C0 on some presets.

No I didn’t know that, thanks.
-
I thought that NS2 automatically zipped when archiving?
-
@mrwilson Been trying in another thread, but for some reason my Dropbox refuses to upload the file to share.
-
Yes, it’s finding the way of working for what you are trying to achieve - one way is never the right for all situations. As I said, I can see uses for splitting midi, such as you mentioned. There are also times when splitting midi is not the best option, such as while editing multiple lanes of midi at the same time, or…

I used to separate midi tracks in many DAWs, but splitting the midi can be problematic in other ways and now I’ve gone back to keeping my midi together in the same files for drums. I now prefer the suggestion that @dendy made of having separate drums sequenced from a main drum lane - it makes more complex fx configurations…

I’m presuming you are talking about my template I mentioned? For some reason I’m just unable to upload and post the template, but it really is quite easy. Later this week I will try to make time to write down instruction with pictures to post here. I’m also not sure if those great videos have addressed this idea yet? Maybe…

I agree. I have also discussed the relation of Obsidian to other iOS synths elsewhere - I like discussion and always like to look at all sides of a coin. I would like to say to @"Blip Interactive" that in no way was I looking at changing what Obsidian clearly is and is clearly good at. Obsidian is a well designed built in…

To be honest, I don’t think Riffer works well in the current iOS AU midi land. Riffer works great on other platforms with its drag and drop midi way of working, but I feel the app has been shoehorned into iOS land - where it simply doesn’t work as well.

I would post a template of my Slate midi to Slate sounds, but Dropbox is refusing to upload the archive file
-
Just to complicate the matter more, I would love a key timeline that could have keyboard settings linked to it.
-
I definitely can see a use for separate outs per pad. My use is for using different drum groups for fx purposes, but separate outputs then make mixing awkward, so I still split my kits to different versions of Slate. The way it’s done in a pad set in BM3 is that each pad has its own channel in a sub mixer that is available…

That sounds a good idea :)

That’s a good idea :)
-
I’ve been working on it for years, but all my presets are just so normal - maybe just to be different? :#
-
Probably made some great sounds though =)
-
Lol. Euphemism can be used in so many ways - I won’t ask :p
-
Ok so a bit further along the ownership line and a few more thoughts and feelings on NS2: * I really like having just a few fx in Obsidian and having a bypass switch. The way I use it is nearly always switched off, so a dry sound. I then put the fx on their own channel or grouped fx - this way I can keep a dry and wet…

Audio parts for me at this stage in the process are usually put down after I have some track basics laid down. For myself then, doing a quick stereo audio mix for cubasis and then doing the audio to that track is easy enough. Then just use the audio bits triggered as samples if I still need to do track structuring in NS2.
-
I sent them via sleigh :)
-
Yeah agree that these types of sounds are difficult to capture again. It’s easy enough to get in the ballpark, but even the switch of a wavetable can make a considerable difference, that’s difficult to pin down the harmonics when trying to copy exactly. The great thing is we find many other happy accidents along the way :)
-
I’m just making a stereo mix for now and exporting that to Cubasis. I’m going to add any audio in that and then just trigger them as samples for now. I’m nowhere near the final mixing stage with anything yet, so Auria is feeling lonely lol
-
I’ve only started 6 so far, but have spent a lot of time shifting samples about my iPad of late and restructuring. I really do need a new iPad with more storage.
-
I’m having a blast with NS2. Think I’ve written loads of my opinions here about lol, so won’t repeat it here. Very little I really want to be added to NS2 for it to a comfortable place for me to start my little tunes :)

I’ve always liked the word Colony. I would colonise the world with my little bats :) how offtopic are we?
