  • Another soon to be released killer app using that ‘dead technology’ you guys are keen on ignoring ;) This looks incredible. Instabuy. IAA only apparently.... https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/29269/aphelian-interesting-new-app-coming-next-month
  • Race to the finish. Not betting on either ns2 or bm3 for the time being... proof’s in the pudding ;) I actually love making music at a desk. Focused space and all my gear is there...Just I can’t always be there :/ so always keeping an eye on portable options..
  • Hilarious. In the same breath saying ‘IAA be gone’ and then ‘I’m going to use bm3 for IAA!’. Why would anyone choose an ideal end game that involves using multiple daws? Surely you’d rather just not have to use bm3 for IAA and be able to remain inside ns2 when you need those features? Im struggling to relate to that kind…
  • I’ll try to grab a minute to screen grab some videos and make a YouTube to share them :) But generally my IAA workflow is same as my au workflow. Which is either regular sequencing/tracking with automation on fx etc. Or live resampling to separate audio tracks (or externally to hardware or ableton) while jamming in IAA…
  • I just think it’s funny how people who don’t use IAA are so loud about not needing it. Surely you/they have something better to think/talk about than something that you/they don’t want? But yeh, agreed. dull thing to spend life moments dwelling on and it sounds like it’ll never happen in any case. Guess we’ll see how other…
  • To > @drez said: Arghhhhh. There’s nothing intelligent or forward thinking about killing backward compatibility when clearly still in a transitional period. Every other daw has AU. That’s not something that ns2 has brought to the table. You make out like it’s a unique selling point NOT having IAA support. Total nonsense...
  • ‘Polluting ns2 with that crap’....That’s a naive/ignorant way of seeing it...
  • Yeah, none of the IAA apps are saved/loaded when you open your ns2 project. Great :/
  • But he’s going to add audiobus? Which makes for an EVEN CLUNKIER workflow to use IAA than built in support? IAA isn’t a dead technology yet. Jumping the gun.... good IAA stuff is still being released. Devs are making IAA apps. Other daws are supporting IAA. It’s literally only dead in ns2....
  • No worries :) Was just mentioning about things like looper/mangling apps. Apple’s Au restrictions with sampling/file saving etc seem like they’ll possibly mean that IAA will be used for various types of apps/workflows for the forseeable.
  • Patterning, Samplr, Scapers (au on its way, but when?), Animoog, Full IDensity, Full PPG infinite, Looperverse, etc etc, the list is lonnnnng. Au versions/Alternatives/better ‘will’ appear. But god knows when. For example ToneStack has been saying ‘AU coming’ for what seems like forever... And in any case, anyone that has…
  • Matt made his IAA decision based on his personal useage and feedback from a small beta team. You’re making it out to be Brexit. It’s not, it’s a reversible decision. And one that a lot of people have voiced support for. I understand how if you don’t dig any IAA apps then you couldn’t care less. But perhaps imagine yourself…
  • You obviously don’t understand the concept of ‘feature request’. And yeah, I have been using other daws instead of ns2. Been coming to that solution all by myself but thanks for stating the obvious..
  • I’m all for progress too. When all the dopest IAA apps are converted to au or replaced by equivalent/better other apps then good riddance to IAA. But until then, ‘progress’ that means not being able to use the best tools for the job isn’t the kind of progress I generally get hyped about... it’s a premature move by a year…
  • It’s actually the same as nothing if you don’t have audiobus...
  • You don’t use some of the best iOS apps available, good for you... for those that do use those apps, lame. And Matt isn’t ‘embracing the future’ any more than any other app that has au support. He’s simply ignoring the past/present. Which isn’t quite so admirable...
  • Not to mention it sucking as a workflow :/ regular IAA support would be vastly preferable...
  • So we’ll have to buy audiobus to use IAA? Lame if true. I have zero need for audiobus elsewhere in iOS, not really keen on buying it just to plug holes in ns2 :(
  • Same as bm3 main keyboard should work ok? Doesn’t interfere with plugins
  • That bm3 sample edit page mini keyboard is better than nothing but using it for anything outside of simple mono note input bugs me. Would much rather the main bm3 keyboard was available globally in all bm3 pages/modes with a show/hide button.
  • Not a dealbreaker. Instruments like synthscaper don’t have this feature either. And, similarly to obsidian, they’re far from redundant. It’s just a useful additional sound design option. A la kontakt and ableton etc. It’s not a ‘hip-hop’ focused feature at all imho. Just another tool that’s nice to have around when…
  • Full agreement. Just a quick show/hide keyboard button would be a huge overall workflow addition :)
  • If I was having the same experience as you are with ns2 then yeah for sure, that sounds like 5 stars. And you’re right to review it accordingly. But I’m not. I find aspects of ns2 to feel awkward and oddly or disappointingly implemented. If voicing that in an honest way somehow reduces the chance of it improving in those…
  • Big +1. Onscreen Keys option in all areas of ns2 would be great.
  • Hope Matt finds a way to add it. It’s something I miss a lot when using samples in obsidian. Not a dealbreaker, it’s not ‘always’ present in similar instruments, but definitely something I often utilise when it is available.
  • Like I said, my review was based on my feelings on what’s there. Not what isn’t ;) 5 star = perfect. 1 star = terrible. My feelings on ns2 atm overall are middle area, but more pros than cons. = 3 stars. Not sure why anyone’s reviews that aren’t 5 star should automatically require explanation/justification. I wouldn’t have…
  • Is that in Apple terms and conditions? I must have missed it... I’m just rating it in terms of whats there now. It has some teething issues and some things that bug me in terms of workflow/implementation. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion right? If I was rating in terms of what’s missing, as you seem to be…
