I didn't even realize what the LP knob did in the SC for quite some time. Now I mostly use that. Otherwise, I simply loaded up the same Slate instance (or similar), took the kick and duplicated it to that track. May seem wasteful, but that's probably mainly in track space as the samples are all in memory from the first…

Much of how I construct sounds in FM is how I intuitively think of it. I think I mentioned "unpredictable" (or some variant) about 1000 times in that video lol. So for me I think of it as taking base operators and adding to them, add noise, change the amount of that with the "amp" on the far right, and character with the…

In case you guys missed it put up a quick workflow guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXDTZ9P7n6Q And probably something more exciting, the FM oscillator explained (and my typical workflow): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hUmkHmM_Mw

@number37 definitely keep the suggestions coming. That one is a bit trickier for me at the very moment because of the setup I'm working with but I will definitely at it to the list and hopefully get to it shortly.

Nice review and some great suggestions! By the way in regards to harpischord, you could create a sort of realistic sounding harpischord with straight synthesis (i mean with enough patience and tweaking probably a very realistic sounding one). Just take an oscillator, set it to noise. Put the amp ENV to a very short…

Yes those ratings, aside from those sweet sweet $$$, is the other great way of showing support for the app. Let's just make sure NS2 makes it above FartBox3000 or whatever joke app is higher than it in the music app category at the moment.

So many Freudian interpretations, so little time.

As far as I'm concerned it's always sexy time when working with NS2, Matt.

It's also pretty understandable that first reach will be that which you're used to. It's good to build up knowledge over time by incorporating what you already know. And yeah seems people are quite happy with the AU support/cataloguing.

I just make sure the note audition toggle is enabled (beside grid in the note/pattern editor). Then i click and drag a note to hear it at different intervals. It is a workaround for the suggestion in the op. Which I'm sure Matt will consider implementing as he sees these requests!

And same goes for the Slate kits. Tried to make use of the modulations/compression/eq as much as possible and make them as universal as possible. Just drop your own sounds in and it should sound... even better somehow!
-
I would like to say that you should pick up the sound packs for the sounds alone but also I think they serve as a good foundation to create your own sounds. Many of the macro controls were set up to change the sound significantly. Matt and I had a rule to avoid any "one trick pony" sounds. That and the modulation…

Thanks a lot guys! The encouragement helps as I'm out of practice a bit here. @dendy thanks for the sticky/announcement. I would say it's a great idea but that would also sound biased! ;)

I take it in BM3 you stop the send propagation with a disable toggle? Yeah, that would seem unusual to me. I suppose it's all relative to what you're used to.
-
Just curious guys which setup you work with that handles this differently? I'm normally not familiar with the iOS landscape and my DAW of choice (as in a prisoner's 'choice'?) is Cubase and it operates the exact same way as in NS2.

@Nyanko The IAP demos are up on the front page of this site, linked to soundcloud. Have a listen to get a small snippet of what each IAP has to offer: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/ @3sleeves haha glad the harp is getting some love (as an instrument sample or otherwise).
