Thanks @dendy, yes, also for bridging 'hardware', in my case a bunch of ipads (in questionable states), and their keyboards plus a controller for quantum, all sharing [the sync 🔁 feature] to the other by virtue of being modules (set up with audiobus & aum), connected by bluetooth/USB-MIDI and Audio interfaces, you know,…

vimeo.com>Quantum MidiSequencer and Nanostudio< ~> watching it without headphones would let me look like an amateur 🤪, so please ...

Elevating, Dendy!

Re: MIDI loopback, Slate pads > Obsidian notes * Slate Drum Track: Input/MIDI channels disabled, MIDI Send to External MIDI Track * External MIDI Track: Input/On-screen Keys Only, Output/Audiobus3, Channel 10, MIDI THRU disabled * Obsidian Instrument Track: Input/Audiobus3, Channel 10 or: Slate pads > another Slate * Slate…

A not-so-obvious find while sequencing from nano with an external midi track: ... Slate drum midi out :astonished: ... route a midi send from a Slate track to an e.m.t. (ch.10) and out to a drum app (which? nanostudio on another device) ... As @Will said in the audiobus thread, nanostudio also is a multitimbral synth…
-
As I feel way more comfortable writing here rather than in the audiobus 'official nanostudio thread' ... there'd be much to say about what's going on over there, but all I'd like to comment on is how much I'm digging @drez's musicality :-) 'A day off' in 'Six years' ;) ... comparing those songs the evolvement of the melody…
-
Fun-fact: haven't even opened an au in it yet ;)

Do you own Thumbjam, @Toastedghost ? Set DD midi out to 'Thumbjam' (mute its instrument, and set Midi Thru to enabled). In ns2 you can now get midi input from 'Thumbjam'. Cheers.

Easy to get enthusiastic (or nostalgic) in here, congratulations :) Dendy: celebrations! I agree, it's kind of restoring a personal element to your music.

Learning by listening to (all of) you, thanks for your insights. Setting up tracks with fx like in Will's prj. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8lnany5ttxc03y9/That%20dot%20below%20the%20moons.nsa?dl=0 and automating the sends (Drez!) make Matt's wishmashine move, for sure!
-
yeah, thanks for your efforts!
-
Here too, full immersion - I'm amazed continually by the exactitude and particularity of nanostudio for sound, for bringing it all together, for the evolving of the ideas of the music itself. Finding myself occupied with refining a 12sec. fragment over days ... like thru a fractal ... scalarizing onward ... variations on…

@drez said: That's a Great story, bro, indeed: for 'classy-cal' music and 'composing', nanostudio is really well suited, it should be said +1:
-
@3sleeves I think I remember to having seen this in the '80s ? ... pretty nice tunes :) these days
-
One more just found out detail, double-tapping on the piano roll and the movable sidebar (on the sides) for resizing, nice ;) Floating virtual, scalable, note-repeating, (midi-effecting?) etc. keyboard/slate foils next to the note-grid ... Good metaphor about denoising the interaction and providing a meditative mood.

On the ipad in safari, I 'continued to website' and tapped the three dots in the upper corner on the site to 'directly download' and 'open in' it (without dropbox app).
-
Thank you so much, the music and the project archive.
-
Me, I'm digging how the the tracks colors reappear on playing the inbuilt keyboard :]

Thanks for the egg, may I offer you a Trdelník (tree cake) for it 🥞

@dendy ... the question would be about an additional user folder in "Presets". In "files" app, Nanostudio2 folder, 'on my ipad/nanostudio2/instruments/obsidian' there are two folders, 'SubPatch' and 'User'. If you make a new one in that directory, f.e. 'nanostudioforum', it would only show up in ns2 obsidian track…
-
btw. @dendy please can you confirm that with a new user folder made in files, it is only containing shortcuts to the main user folder in 'presets', also to avoid accidentally deleting a mirror user folder in files ? thanks (:
-
Far out Music Thank you
-
Sure, nonetheless I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand, if it would provide me with workarounds, f.e. recording au midi fx: E.g. in Aum, with 'MidiEcho' as au midi fx routed to midifire1 port, in midifire: midifire1 -> midifire3, and Obsidian set to receive from midifire3. ;)
-
@david_2019 ... making a new folder in 'files' (on your ipad/nanostudio2/instruments/obsidian/user) and in nanostudio on an instrument track in preset/manage selecting 'refresh', however collecting presets there can only be handled inside 'files' for now, it seems. Here is one preset, the eastern patch tweaked with a…

Ok, the way I see it, is that what's happening, when ns2 and ab3 are both active and outputting audio, is the ipad's hardware main outputs contain the sum of the audio sources. For me that suffices, the interapp connectivity dilemma on the device itself is virtually tangential when put in perspective. Presses pause on…

'midi link sync'

As it is now, ns2 is running standalone in the setup I set up over the years including audiobus, auria, aum, midifire, mididesigner, quantum, keyboards, bcr2000, audio&midi usb interfaces, another ipad, a soundsystem with a mixer, a linux desktop at home. I wanted it to become a sequencing environment, a live and studio…

Done: '7 years - the circle has been closed. Simple and elegant. Legendary nanostudio' ;) Congrats, Matt, thanks & all the best
