50 years is an exceptional achievement but so is this track! That’s a lot of expression from one synth.

I’m pretty sure single core performance and RAM amount are the number one considerations.
-
That one is not really a bug but a (missing) feature. I’ve advocated for the system keyboard since NS1 and I still think it would be better, and come with external keyboard support built in.

Haha, I did… I designed them for the Finnish Post and they came out for Valentine’s Day this year. Now they are competing for the title of the most beautiful Finnish stamp 🙂 But I’m competing against myself because there are six and only one can win. Funnily enough, they haven’t really stopped you from voting several…

Can’t believe you’re the first one to notice that typo 😂😂 it’s 2.1.1, there’s been two updates since launch.
-
Thanks, I appreciate that! 🙂

Oh, I remember that change, probably the most heatedly contested one because it was the wobble-heads like me who wanted the 1/3 & 1/6 divisions but it badly messed up the time modulation. Then we had to come up with creative math based automation to get around the issue. It was an annoying tradeoff, one great feature for…

And then save the chains as presets, which is always a great time saver!

Great work, congratulations!!

👍👍👍

Cool! I hope you made sure you are eligible for the free Live 11 upgrade in January? Should be a decent feature bump!

Single core benchmarks for iPads. I’m not entirely sure which generation the new ones are in but if you know the name of the processor, you can probably get a close enough idea of the power in comparison to your old device. https://browser.geekbench.com/ios_devices/11

Glad to help :)

I do have a Push 2 but it’s a performance and sequencing tool. It doesn’t really do anything in Arrangement view, which you’ll be mostly using when mixing. If you spend most of your time outside the clip/performance view, it’s not really worth it. Looks like Live 11 doesn’t bring any change in this department. You can’t…

That’s the correct place, but the .obs’s are supposed to be folders containing a ”package.obs” file. If they are showing up as named .obs files, they have gone wrong at some point and won’t show up in NS. If that’s the issue, just backtrack until you find the actual folders. IAP patches can’t be copied. And of course NS…

I export stems into Ableton. I’ve never felt comfortable mixing on a 13” screen.

Cheers, mate!

The stock effects are good for a lot of things, the EQ and compressor are very transparent. Maybe look into a multiband compressor like the toneboosters one? For saturation, I like Reamp.
-
Thanks! I’ll definitely look into those. Still kind of feeling around the levels, especially the verse/chorus relationship. I’m trying to be careful with vocal reverb because some of the other elements are basically only reverb and I don’t want to drown the mix in reverb. But there is a sharpness to the vocal that is a bit…

Thanks for this, should narrow down the cause considerably! 👍👍

It’s not possible, you have to do it separately.

Good question, Slate isn’t supposed to have Pitch Bend support at all and it doesn’t seem to do anything by itself. In Obsidian it’s clear: it raises or lowers pitch. Pitch Bend automation starts working if you add a Midi Send and target a channel with an Obsidian. It’s actually a pretty useful little shortcut.

iOS 14 seems to have solved Bass 808’s loading issues, but otherwise it is unfortunately a long standing problem that Audiokit and NS don’t mix well. There have been attempts to solve it, but I don’t know whose court the ball is right now, usually NS has not been the only app to have issues with them.
-
This is a bit embarrassing, you’ve hit on a beta-tester weakness: none of us had an interface with that many outputs. I’ll forward this to Matt.
-
I’m not completely sure what you are doing but the two possibilities have mostly the same answer: * Nanostudio doesn’t have audio tracks yet, so you can’t record audio output from one track to another. To get around this, you can do a mixdown of soloed tracks, use a plugin like Multitrack Recorder, or record the sound…
-
Usually I just solo the track(s) and do a quick mixdown. Then I just use it like any sample.
-
To be honest, I can’t remember anymore, but judging by the name, Slow might have heavier interpolation and thus, react a little slower. It’s not a big difference in any case.
-
if there was, it’s not a Nanostudio feature. Could well be something in GB. In that case, GB users can probably help you.
-
I can only say that Audiokit apps in general have had issues with NS, but I have no experience with this one. You can try turning the device off and on again and reinstalling the plugin just to be sure. Edit: bought it out of curiosity and it loads fine for me. Definitely try some troubleshooting, it might start working…

The understanding so far has been that lowest buffer = least problems and best quality. For example, quick attack and decay times work more reliably the shorter the buffer is. This has been the first report of it going the other way around, but it’s certainly something to take seriously. I’ll let Matt know about this…
