What about BM3 is making you flirt with other options?
-
That really was a lovely sound. It was the basis for so so many of my customized sounds. I bet @dendy could recreate something quite close in Obsidian if beg/harass him enough. :) All of the controls are available in Obsidian but the internal algorithms for everything are so improved that the upper-mid smeary/crunchy thing…
-
yup. Pretty much everything about the sampling experience is improved in NS2 other than the ability to synchronize the sample's start with the song clock.
-
Don't forget to adjust the VEL knob on the pad's AMP page to get the maximum volume range from velocity settings. https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/nanostudio2/user-manual/Slate.html#pad
-
Cool idea. I'd suggest posting it to https://patchstorage.com/platform/mozaic/ for sure.
-
You can, of course, host Drambo in AUM and then point AUM/Drambo at NanoStudio/Obsidian.
-
Well, it might be far fetched implementation wise—I dunno. Just know Matt had talked about making something like it.
-
This one (or something very similar) is definitely noted the backlog. Matt talked about creating something almost exactly like this during the earliest stages of the beta.
-
Oh! Or... just put the kick sample into Obsidian (instead of Slate) and turn off pitch tracking in the sample oscillator's main screen ("KEY TRK"). Then, it wont matter which notes Thumbjam sends out. :+1: https://thumbjam.com/docs.php#inputcontrolmode is the basic bits about audio to midi conversion in TJ.
-
In case you already own it, Thumbjam comes with a pitch to MIDI converter. Don't think you can lock it down to a single MIDI note (it tries to interpret pitches -> midi notes) but maybe you can create a custom, single note scale in TJ? Or, presuming your kick drum is reasonably pitch stable, just see how many notes TJ…

Another in the pop-up by default camp here. Also wouldn't mind if Duplicate was greyed out unless you had a non-parent track selected (to lessen complications). It's generally the track routing I'm looking to duplicate quickly. Creating a new instrument track and loading (or pasting) the patch is pretty quick.
-
@anickt Thanks for the breakdown. I was just looking at Crunk on the app store, saw its power button and came here to say 'ohohoh... I get it!' :)
-
Sorry I'm missing it but would you explain this a little further for those of us without Crunck? I don't get what you're looking to do.
-
This is actually how the search works over on the AB forum. Will discuss the possibility of adding something similar to the documentation subsite with Mr. Matt.
-
Also, nerd tip: stick this inter yer googles to add the missing manual search feature searchterm site:blipinteractive.co.uk/nanostudio2/user-manual/ like: "slate midi note site:blipinteractive.co.uk/nanostudio2/user-manual/"
-
100 points @SpookyZoo for sharing the answer back here.
-
Some more details on audio formats can be found in the manual: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/nanostudio2/user-manual/AudioAndMIDIFiles.html
-
The guy could have dusted off his keyboard before asking the tattoo artist to recreate it. Sheesh.
-
Sorry, I missed this post. Yes, that's what I was thinking. On re-listen, I'm even less convinced though! The new single experiment would be to just turn the bass up throughout the entire track. I think that would have a similar equalizing effect (as it would start to mask things up to near the 'presence' range) while…
-
Welcome to the forum @SynthGang. Nice list! This would be very nice. As a stop gap, I find myself using 'Copy' from the hamburger menus before messing with something drastically. If it doesn't work out, I just paste it back. You can do this for the entire Obsidian patch on the patch page or any of the individual panels on…
-
The user could optionally sync the Library folder across both devices though.

I really like the mix. Were I sitting in front of the project file, the experiment I'd consider is dropping the vocals by 3-6db while boosting some upperish frequency band on the vocals by a similar amount. Like, making them a little less present in the mix generally but boosting the so-called "presence" at roughly an…

Hiya. That's a weird one. The NS1 purchase should have nothing do with anything related to NS2. NS2 isn't an upgrade; it's an entirely new/separate app. Are you positive you haven't changed Apple IDs on the machine? Maybe logged in as your partner for a while or something? When you look at the app store, does it show NS2…
-
Exactly this.
-
@Chucky It's on the list for sure. Where on the list is unknown but he's definitely aware it needs to be addressed.
-
nice! Love the sounds and especially love the harmonies.
-
Glad you found a solution. Should also be able to host it in AUM and send the MIDI out of AUM into a MIDI Instrument track in NS2. Use LINK to keep them in sync. You'll prolly want to set it to a specific MIDI channel which you can set up on the MIDI Instrument track's Input setup. More info here:…
-
Ah, cool. Thanks. I just bought it today so I guess I get to live the good life from the go. :)
-
Out of curiosity, what works now that didn't work before?
-
@SlapHappy did you ever find a solution to this? I remember you'd spent some time researching this very question.
