Huge +1 on this. Don’t show the automation lane if there’s no automation on it. Use audio unit UI to automate. All problems solved.

Here’s why the current approach with assigning macros doesn’t work. Exhibit A: two params with the same name, one works one doesn’t. Exhibit B: finding a param among EIGHT HUNDRED other ones.

Audio tracks will be available sometime next year as an IAP, according to the developer.

I'm talking about defaults. I understand that I'm able to go "full screen" (somewhat full screen) and get functionality back. As it stands, the Audio / Midi FX strips are ugly, AU UI is inconsistent, and everything wastes valuable screen estate in the default view. Of course AU developers can update their code to support…

I think this ship has irrevocably sailed, but I'll let @"Blip Interactive" confirm. Fwiw, I fully support this decision. Focus on core strength and stability.

I don't. I prefer more real estate for content, rather than the DAW UI around it. An option like what Cubasis offers would be excellent and satisfy everyone... that's assuming NS2 gets updated to properly support other resolutions.

Experience with other iOS DAWs, each with their own scaling oddities and custom AU sizing, teaches us that most AU developers are highly unlikely to ever update their plugins for unorthodox formats. BM3 has suffered (and still suffers) from this greatly on the 12.9" iPads.

NS2 doesn't support audiobus, and likely never will. Confirmed by the developer in other audiobus threads.

Agreed, especially when automation is involved.

Ideally the regular aspect ratio would be used by default, in all situations. This means a ton of extra available real estate for knobs, keyboards and stuff. As it stands right now, it's neither pretty nor functionally useful to have this square format.

If you use pre fader sends, and lower the fader completely on the original track (in the mixer, not for the send), you can hear the sidechain working while essentially muting the source. It's not ideal, i'd be nice if this worked automagically like in BM3.
