  • @Quickpull - yes, it’s still a thing. Here’s one workaround that will work for iPhone if you have AUM: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/11254/#Comment_11254
  • Oh man am I glad we got that cleared up. I thought it was a sex toy.
  • No need to apologize for asking questions! B) You can record the changes, but you have to first map the control you want to change to one of the eight Macro (Performance) Controls. You then move the macro controls, which move the controls in the app. The macro control movements are recorded and will play back the app sound…
  • Measurement mode only affects the internal mic or a microphone plugged into the audio jack, and the built-in speakers. It has no effect on the sound of an app, unless you're listening through the built-in speakers. The difference in sound you're hearing from standalone apps vs. apps in NS2 is most likely simply due to…
  • Mozaic is at least as flexible as Streambyter, and (at least for me) more accessible to learn. There are a couple of Mozaic scripts available already that may be close to what you're looking for: https://patchstorage.com/note-probability/ https://patchstorage.com/probability-gate-sequencer/…
  • I was trying to be helpful. No need to be a dick.
  • @bluemoononwunday - No developer I know of on any forum or social media has been able to shed light on when Apple will fix this.
  • It's an iOS 14 thing. Still not fixed. The solution that sometimes works in other hosts is to request the list of IAA plugins then go back to check the AUv3's. But of course you can't do that in NS2, so reboot is the only option. The AUM developer tried to put in place a hack that would get around this by requesting the…
  • I don't think zipper noise affected by device performance. I think it may be caused by by NS2 not recording the automation at a high enough resolution, so it's basically quantized. At least that's what I remember reading in an earlier thread somewhere.
  • Side note: a few AUv3 apps crash at very high buffer settings (usually higher than 1024, but sometimes 512. 512 is the default max buffer size in some Apple developer examples, and not all developers think to be sure to enable higher settings.
  • Is Background Audio enabled in both apps? It's under Advanced Settings in Gadget.
  • Probability per note in the piano roll would be super nice. I envision it being edited per note as velocity is now. That’s different than modifying the overall probability of a particular pad playing with a Mozaic script, though that’s fun to do as well.
  • I’m not a developer. Be aware that surely much of what follows is poorly explained at best, and completely wrong at worst. I’m not sure that’s correct. I’m not sure it’s incorrect either. I do know that the developer has no control whatsoever over which cores tasks are assigned to. The operating system does that. Not a…
  • iOS doesn't provide any way for an app to choose which cores or how many cores are used. It's all managed by iOS, and is subject to Apple's decisions at any given time to performance with battery use and heat management. The very latest version of iOS introduces the possibility for apps to use more than one thread for…
  • Do you mean the "recording trigger slide out" below? If so then, it has nothing to do with iOS 14. That's a part of Audiobus. Sorry, but there's no way to have it without Audiobus.
  • I'm not sure you can change that setting in NS2 directly. I notice that if I plug in Lightning earbuds it changes to 44.1kHz. When I unplug them it changes back to 48K. In AUM, with the earbuds unplugged I'm unable to set 44.1kHz. iPhone 7s. Same on iPad Air 2.
  • I’m glad you see some humor in it. I feel like I need a shower after the latest AB forum snark fest. :/ Still, lotsa fans over there too. B)
  • Um ... good luck with that one. I don't know of anything on iOS that does follow SPP. Maybe Auria Pro? I forget. Sorry. 😕
  • For song position you're out of luck. NS2 doesn't support it, and no word has come down on when any update will be released, and no word other than audio tracks on what is planned. For midi clock sync and start/stop you can load NS2 into Audiobus 3, then use Audiobus 3 to bridge midi clock to Ableton Link. It does an…
  • To reduce latency and simply setup, you can: * Add a track or the plugin you want to play * Set this track to receive midi always. * Add a midi out track * Add the MIDI Route plugin from MIDI Tools Suite as a MIDI Fx. * Set the Destination in MIDI Route to NanoStudio 2 * Set MIDI Input for this track to On-screen Keys Only…
  • If you're hosting the midi plugin in AUM, that's the only way to manage it, at least until NS2 supports Link Start/Stop. Here's one way to do it all within NS2 (sort of). * Open NS2 and AUM * Add NS2 to a track in AUM. You don't need to do do anything with this track, it's just there to keep the midi flowing when you…
  • Not really an alternative, but Effectrix can do some similar things.
  • This can be done by hosting Animoog in AUM, routing “AUM Destination” to it, and sending NS2 midi out to AUM. Midi in doesn’t need to be set in Animoog because it will be handled by IAA in AUM.
  • This works fine for me. Are you sure you have background audio enabled in NS2? [edit ... after re-reading, @Trigger_the_Monkey ’s answer seems more likely to be the right one. ]
  • You can create dummy clips on the main mix track, or a dummy one at the top, and name them to create pseudo section markers. Coloring the clips helps further differentiate them. An added side benefit is you can tap the clip then double-tap the Actions button to automatically loop to that section.
  • Great! I'm glad it helped.
  • Sorry, no. It will play back with the keyboard just fine though if you switch over to whatever instrument you have loaded on the track. you just can't make live adjustments while playing the keyboard.it would be nice if there was at least a latch mode on the NS2 keyboard. BTW, you can't record the midi output of the…
