  • @anickt said: First post here. I made some music to help me get to sleep. Cool! It’s been a while since I heard actual rave music 🙂 I totally get that, I used to listen to prog trance to get to sleep.
  • @dockd said: Thanks much for both quick responses. I think dendy makes the point, which confirms what little I could glean initially from looking at the early screen shots and whatnot. As well, I especially like the dual xy pads for performance…
  • Made use of the latest track in a Very Important Dad Moment.
  • Marking this as resolved.
  • @dockd said: I have not updated because I use the Nanostudio 1 Whirlpool Eden patch a lot for live stuff. Is there anything similar in Obsidian, or can it be recreated with Obsidian? Uh, could you post a sample of it? Don’t have a working…
  • Ah, I see what you mean. That would be useful.
  • @legsmechanical said: Just occured to me that it’d be nice if the top of the slate interface gave an option to select pads for editing via midi. As someone who primarily uses an external controller, that would be a real boon to workflow. …
  • Great catch!
  • @db909 said: Also, a question. The delete record mode. I get what it does, but I’m struggling to see the practical use of it. Does anyone use this frequently as a part of their workflow? Very curious. It’s actually the same as how an…

  • @Crandallonius said: Hey everyone. I'm new here, but I've messed around with NS1 for a while now. I'm trying to load samples for the keyboard, but I noticed that it seems like NanoStudio speeds/slows the sample as you move up and down the keyb…

  • Another Short End. Composed in NS, with mostly built-in devices, AUs used are: Tardigrain, iSEM, ShimmerFX and BLEASS Delay. I added some multiband compression and another bell sound in Ableton Live.
  • @boom said: -chord pads (set notes for each pad) Would love this to bits!
  • And if there’s ever another demo track remix contest, I know which one I will ruin this time, love this!
  • @PUMP said: I put my 808 in pad 16 what is the correct way to make it sound as if I’m playing it up and down in octaves? So one pad per note. Or you can load the sample into Obsidian and play it from the keyboard.
  • @dendy said: thanks stiksi ! Oh man, listened to this again with better headphones and it makes me wish I could go clubbing again three nights a week like in my twenties and just take over the dance floor. Superb dance track. 👏
  • Yeah, but why bother 🤪 Actually, I wasn’t aware of normalize globally, that sounds super handy. But using floating point just makes the problem completely vanish, so I’ll continue doing that.
  • @dendy said: (but i'm not sure if Ableton can handle this form) Yes it can. I’ve been having a problem with stems clipping too. It’s easy to just leave them in the red by accident because NS doesn’t consider it an issue if individual c…
  • @dendy said: New track, as usually, most things is from Obsidian, most of used FX build in .. on 2 or 3 tracks is used FAC Transient .. 303 sound is Troublemaker, for one arpeggio is used Ripplemaker. Wow, that was trippy, the sou…
  • @dendy said: * every oscillator can handle up to 24 sample zones. so in total you can use 72 sample zones per patch * by default all 3 oscillators are mapped to whole velocity range - which means they are playing like 3 layers together…
  • @ScottVZ said: So I’m like, a John Williams chord would sound good here, or a Jerry Goldsmith mysterious sparkly harp-flute-synth combo will add an unexpected turn here, or maybe some Elfman-like choir here. I just like to mix styles from all m…
  • Quite a few, especially if you split the Obsidian keyboard into three regions, each controlling a different sample oscillator. I can’t remember the exact number but you should be able to cover a full keyboard with three layers. Dendy ”the dictionary…
  • @ScottVZ said: Hello everyone. I'm new here, and I just created my first composition in NanoStudio 2. There are over 40 tracks in this piece, and most of them are custom Obsidian patches I made myself from orchestral instruments I sampled from …
  • @cianoc said: Any sort of ETA on the next update? Eh, soonish is the latest word on it. I'm afraid there isn't going to be a very satisfactory answer to this but it's coming! Blip is pretty immune to hard deadlines because he likes to do …

  • @number37 said: (I do wish we could add our own tags though.) What I do that kind of works like this is I add a custom label into the name of the patch, then I can search for it with the text search.
  • @coniferprod said: @Stiksi said: Hey @dendy & @coniferprod is there any sneaky way to make synthjacker record IAA synths? My main use case with NS would be to multisample the synths I can’t load into NS, so this would make the a…
