Quick update: managed to delete an impressive quarter of a million spam account registrations. Still some more to go but I've almost got it under control. Probably.

Sorry to hear you've got problems with this. Ironically I'm involved in 50% of the Apple Developer discussion you linked (my user name's 'futile' as it's the word I most associate with trying to solve problems via the Apple Developer forums). The problem as I see it is this: * iOS starts downloading the IAP content * At…

As far as I'm concerned, shoegaze and breakbeats never went.

Whenever I hear vocals on a dance track I want them removed. Short samples can get annoying and long meaningful lyrics just sound long without the meaningful bit. It's way harder to prop up a whole track instrumentally. As soon as I added the vocals it was basically job done after a bit of tidying up. It did feel like…

I think a number of factors are at play. NS1 was early did particularly well> @richardyot said: I was about to write pretty well the same thing! When the App Store moved exclusively to iOS, discoverability of new apps disappeared overnight. To get to the music section it's Apps->Scroll down to near the bottom->Top…

Right, thanks so much for that. I think we can all agree this is a Good Thing. Are you able to host Audio Units without problems? This seems to be the thing causing the problems on the iOS 15 beta right now.
-
Good man, it only just occurred to me that asking how other apps are fairing on iOS 15 would be a good question to ask. From what I can see at my end, I would expect other apps to crash at the same point too. It may manifest more seriously in NS2 because it scans all installed AUs for their patches at start-up whenever the…

I get some very angry mails about not providing updates for the decade-old NS1, sometimes threatening legal action. I'd share them but it would be unprofessional. Juicy though. Anyway, getting back on track ... I've had some reports of the latest version not working on the latest iPad Pro's with the M1 processor. In all…

I like the democracy of Patreon (and similar), but I'm concerned that the generous few may end up paying the way for the majority. Also, I know I'd feel guilty if some subscribers had paid a fair amount of money and I felt like I hadn't produced enough - somehow it makes it all far more personal. So ultimately I think the…

Thanks man. I've been back on it a little but I can't guarantee much beyond making sure everything in the app works as it should and adding smaller features here and there. One day some music app developers will have to say the 's' word. By this I mean subscription. It's the only way to make future updates less, er,…

I've had a sort of third-hand report that the latest update may not be working on devices with the M1 processor, which are: * iPad Pro 11" (3rd gen) * iPad Pro 12.9" (5th gen) If anyone has those devices I'd be grateful to hear about your experience with the latest update. If there are new problems then I'll look into them.

Is the project causing a crash during load? If so, NS2 will 'blacklist' the AU it was attempting to load so it can skip it next time and and you don't end up with unloadable projects. If it's caused be more than one AU then you may have to try reloading that project several times. If the AU just hangs the project load,…

Version 2.1.1 is now available in the App Store, which should fix this issue https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/1682/nanostudio-2-2-1-now-available
-
Should be fixed in V2.1.1.
-
Yeah I experienced this too, even after I'd made the changes for iOS 14 to stop it crashing. Fortunately it stopped after a period of time and downloads were back to normal. I think the app store's still trying to send downloads to your device which were requested during a previous run session. One of these worked for me:…

A velocity of zero is equivalent to 'note off' in MIDI so the lowest valid velocity value is 1. If you don't get complete silence with a velocity of 1 then you probably just need to increase the Slate pad's velocity as Will mentioned:

Should be fixed in v2.1.1.

I've hopefully fixed all the naughty iOS 14 stuff and submitted a new version. No idea how long it's going to take. Typically the review process is 1-2 days max, but Apple gave developers such short notice this time round that I suspect they're unusually busy - ie. mayhem!

This function seems to be new in iOS 14 - up until now I didn't know how to obtain an AU's icon. I see it's as well documented as most other iOS audio functions. This function does 'no overview available'.

I haven't lost hope for a 100 page AB thread, but I realize I may have to resort to controversial statements rather than full radio silence to achieve it. WARNING: controversial statement Truth is I gave up alcohol fully a few years ago because my body disagrees with it. Instead, I drink cocktails made from crystal meth,…

Getting out of bed's OK. The problem is sobering up.
-
Hmm probably should be: Resolved. For Now.

Yes I live, and I'm better now I'm no longer a reluctant home school teacher - thanks for asking! I must say this whole iOS 14 thing's a bit disappointing. Not only has it broken a couple of things (which I think I've managed to fix), but the act of communication has dashed my dreams of a 100 page thread on the AB forums…

Doesn't come up when you search "DAW" either! Yes it's crap, I don't think you could make that bad deliberately. The ultimate insult - you get a fart app about 5th in the list. DAW is definitely in the search terms although I avoid using it in the store description otherwise I'd have the audio track faction on my back!
-
Yeah my apologies, I've been off the radar for a while. The level of income from NS2 has meant that I've been able to justify spending about half my time on it, and the half I do spend on it has all gone into coding. I'm aware of the two main factions: iPhones and Audio Tracks. I went for the phone because I'd already done…

I just noticed I managed to cut my leg off by accident. Damn.
-
Bah, I thought I'd sorted this. I've just had a look into it and you're correct with your guess of the 32 note limit, probably borne of my lazy assumption that the majority of AU instruments usually don't have a higher polyphony than this. I'm sure it's easily fixed - I'll wait a little while to see if any other small…

I'm normally guilty of adding far too much shit, but with this one I found that because it was more sparse it was more difficult to make a bad mix. Lesson learnt for future. My main problem was with the cross stick/rimshot - I wanted it to crack but because it was surrounded by so much space the transient was almost…

It's a rarity but I actually made one of my own with some help from SpaceCraft: https://soundcloud.com/blip-interactive/dubcraft .. more info here: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/606
