What you CAN do is use another app / device with transport control mapped and use Ableton Link start / stop functionality to start and stop NS. But it’s not really the same thing.
-
No, unfortunately you can’t map transport controls.
-
Yes, it does seem to do that. The automation’s resolution is limited to 128 midi values, which is what’s showing in the editor. Looks like it’s using short interpolation between values but the step size changes when you adjust the curve (between 1 an 1,3 in my test), so I’m not sure what exactly is happening. Edit: I tried…

Ouch, I used to be one of those, although I bitched about why I wouldn’t get Reason. Then they fixed everything I had complained about and I had no reason to not buy it anymore. After a while I had to admit that I’m just not that into Reason. 💀😂
-
No, you can’t control mixer automation there, you can control the pan of the Obsidian oscillators, that’s an Obsidian specific parameter. But don’t worry about it, it’s even further from what you wanted 😀
-
If you want panning automation to follow your part, you can assign OSC pan to a performance knob in Obsidian and automate that. Otherwise, what @number37 said. Edit: Except that copy-paste is not needed. Just select your range of track automation and move it with the handles like usual. Copy-paste might be a better fit for…

… annd bann… hey wait a second 🤔
-
Yes, we have the happiest bots! To be honest, I’m just dreading the day I finally accidentally ban an actual person because there were two dozen spam accounts and I clicked the wrong one 😬
-
It’s a constant battle since a couple weeks ago. Every time I check, there’s a couple pages of it but we do this on our spare time, so we do as much as we can. I hope it lets off after a while because this is a bit much.
-
That’s odd, usually Amen just breaks things 😀 glad you found a cure!
-
Ok, thanks again @bubbasRig what an annoying issue!
-
Do you mean AUM is showing the same behaviour without Nanostudio or are you seeing the same thing happen when you use NS with AUM? And thanks for your effort, I appreciate it!
-
Ok, what’s your setup? OS, device, AUs used in the project. Does it happen when you don’t use AUs? And of course, have you tried killing Nanostudio in the app switcher and restarting the device?
-
The only thing you can not do is record a signal from outside NS into it while it is hosted in NS. You can record into it in standalone mode and use that file in NS or you can use a previously recorded file and yes, you can add any effects onto the channel.
-
Well that’s odd, we have not heard other reports of audio issues using only Nanostudio’s internal devices. That does not mean that they aren’t happening, though. Do you use other music apps, are they working fine? Garageband maybe? Another thing to rule out: are you using wireless or wired headphones? Can you check with…
-
I’ve sent this to Matt, but if you want, you could try reinstalling NS just to check if that helps.
-
Which apps have you tried? Did any have the same kinds of issues? Are there crash reports relating to the restarts?
-
Hold your horses, there has been no indication that a subscription version is being planned. What I got from Matt’s comments was that there needs to be a general rethink of the whole music app business model because it isn’t working except for a chosen few. What that means for NS2 is completely open as far as I can see. As…
-
What ipados are you on and what AU devices are you using in the project? I have merged the two duplicate threads.
-
Does it happen without any AU devices?
-
Excellent! Thanks for the update 🙂
-
Great idea! I could start using it as a signature like trap producers 😀
-
Were you switching to another app before it happened?
-
This thread explains the current situation: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/1689/change-sample-rate-on-iphone
-
@Will If I ever get to do a live performance again, I’ll have to start it by asking ”Can I bum some notes?” Although I would do it regardless of the answer 🤷♂️
-
No, NS2 does not have autobeat. It is one of the most requested features.
-
You can just delete the SynthMaster One app and the plugin will go with it. Apparently Synthmaster on the iPhone has been having a bit of trouble lately. From the comments I’ve understood that it’s a bug in SM1 and affects all hosts, not just Nanostudio. But probably someone else has first hand information.
-
Yes, the clarity of the whole mix is just beautiful!
-
I’ll report this to Matt and include your link. Usually problems with IAPs are in Apple’s court, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. If you’re getting near to the 2 week mark from purchase, I suggest you get a refund now so you don’t get stuck with a non-functional purchase. If you feel like you want to try the ultimate solution,…

From trying out the kit with a fixed velocity, I’m guessing round robin is either a sequential or random triggering, sounds more random than sequential. The velocity is most likely a filter but it sounds pretty good. They might also have velocity layers, I can’t tell, but I consider it unlikely. At least I couldn’t hear…
