+1 Ideally individual Pads that have samples on them should explode in mixer with their own channels like ableton drum racks, bm3 pads, kontakt and so on..
-
Haven’t seen any recent keyboards with slots like that old akai. Probably something out there tho? Personally I’d love a good keyboard/interface/pads/knobs combo. Haven’t seen anything that ticks all those boxes :(

Massive +1. I find the current ‘macros’ more of an inconvenience than a ‘feature’. Multiple parameters per knob functionality would at least justify the effort in having to set them up ;)
-
I’ve been using the multiple slates and midi link as workaround for a few use cases. Does the job but hoping quicker/tidier solutions appear in future :)

Tagged him on the offchance it was currently on his desk and the two were linked. Was trying to save the guy some work if it was something he was currently in the middle of dealing with..

Just noticing a few patterns appear.

Haven’t tried DRC, or even seen the gui or videos, is it pretty recent? Haven’t heard much talk of it, I’ll definitely check it out though, thanks for the heads up!
-
Make your mind up!? You like it how it is currently and feel change would have significant limitations. Or you don’t. You can’t vote both ways :/ You’re contradicting yourself...
-
That was your question, yeah I know. But I was talking about your implying that people were asking for limitations. You don’t see that? Yes/no? Your reply is just really rude and ignorant. Dude you HATE getting called out.
-
Personally I can do everything I need to with groups and sends ‘below’ a Regular master channel. Never felt limited by this in other daws or physical mixers.. I don’t really see any limitations tbh - Why would anyone ever delete the master bus? Why would anyone need to rename master? why would it always be routed to…

Good call, @"Blip Interactive" might be helpful for you to consider these two apps’ ns2 issues as possibly linked, if you aren’t familiar with them and are going through bug reports :) might save you having to reach out to ReSlice dev.
-
I kind of agree. I mean every song is going to have a master bus/track. Maybe a settings option to have that routing setup as default? Wouldn’t interfere with the grouping flexibility, just save people having to make a master group and remember to keep everything inside of it?
-
Someone posted about issues with ReSlice in Ns2? Haven’t taken look at it yet.
-
Yeah moog delivered on that one for sure. And for the patch scenarios where it isn’t so accurate, it kinda compensates by having the intentional innacuracies like polyphony etc. Bang for buck no question.
-
No.11 pleeeeeeease. Such a simple thing but I’m so used to that behaviour in other daws and would love to see a settings option for it.

Too busy to re-read thread to be sure but wasn’t the original point that people were saying that obsidian doesn’t do analog style oscs/filter/saturation/drive etc as accurately as model d? The way each component reacts with each other is modelled very specifically and painstakingly in an app like Model D. 96khz mixdown…
-
Yeah I’m going this route too. Pretty quick. Wondering if with the alternative internal workaround does ns2 internally duplicate sample in to ram for each pad? Or load/reference it only once to save resources?
-
Yeah it just sounds/feels really, really good. Never A/B’d it against anything but use it over hardware regularly. That U-he dude’s talented af

Either way, if oversampling just stops aliasing then I think it’d be a lot of work for obsidian to get close to the analog modelling of model d etc. Oversampling probably is just small part of the equation. Seems like some deep measurements and calculations have gone in to those algorithms to get them to react and sound…
-
You said it wasn’t relevant to saturation or drive in one post then say it’s good for drive in another...Confusing brainstream :)
-
100% Hilarious.
-
Why do plugins like pro-l use it? I always assumed it was for super hi-def detail in modelling/algorithms/calculations and so on? Not just for filter resonance? Genuine question! I have zero knowledge on this..

Nice one for chasing this one up @"Blip Interactive" :) Matty Mcfly. Line em up, shoot em down :) - https://youtu.be/yo7C-Sp_-MI

Congrats on the result! Ns2 represent :)

Not sure if I’m for or against on this one. Half of me says ‘for higher quality just use 3rd party’. But the other half says ‘would be nice to have that kind of quality in obsidian to mix and match with the other synthesis types in obsidian for sound design’. If it’s relatively easy to just switch on oversampling and…
