I have to disagree :) EOS sounds horribly metallic to my ears, and Kleverb is OK but it's not as nice as Pro-R IMO. I actually think the Virsyn Audioreverb is the only other iOS offering that comes close. The big advantage of Pro-R is the amount of tonal control it offers, which is much deeper than any other reverb.

I bought NS2 on release and loved it straight away. I especially like the sequencer and all the shortcuts for quickly getting around the interface, it's a very well thought-out app. Once audio tracks arrive I'll evaluate how it compares to Auria, but at the moment I'm perfectly happy to compose and arrange in NS2 and mix…

Pro-R is amazing, it allows you to tune the tone of the reverb to the track/instrument, it's especially good on vocals as you can shape the sound of the reverb to the timbre of the voice. There's no other reverb like it.

Yeah just the ribbon with a playhead marker would be enough for me, just like the one in GB.
-
I'm reasonably sure that it's not down to a double-tap (I'm familiar with the gesture and use it often in NS2), however it is a possibility I will keep in mind. If there was a mini-timeline visible below the transport bar when you are in the instrument view (like the one in GarageBand for example) this would be much less…

I love most things about NS2, especially the sequencer and piano roll, however I do find that when editing notes in the piano roll the contrast of the finer division grid lines is very hard to work with, the lines are barely visible. It looks pretty, but IMO it's not functional, especially if you have the grid set to finer…

Personally I would like the option to reverse out the grid lines, so that they are white on dark rather than black on very dark grey.

Nice chilled out track - I'm glad my stuff contributed in some small way :)
-
Hehe, they look just like guitar pedals now 🎸

Most apps autosave every time a change is made, that's how apps are supposed to save on iOS.
-
Thanks! As you have such excellent taste in music I take that as a big compliment 😍 Thanks, and yes I can't wait for audio tracks to come to NS2, it will make this kind of songwriting even better and easier, and I'll be able to complete more of the process in that lovely sequencer, where it's so easy to shift things and…
-
Yes I would want that too, copying and pasting text is essential, not just for notes but also for reusing patch names etc..
-
It's probably from starting with a default project, which has that date.

Here is a new pack of sampled guitar notes. I used a Les Paul on the neck pickup and my clean signal chain, for a nice warm clean sound. There is a little noise in the samples due to the analog signal chain, but it's pretty minimal and disappears as soon as you add effects. Add some additional chorus/delay/reverb to make…

Yay - awesome!

When sampling Auv3s the normalise function isn't working for me, I've got the option checked in the prefs but the samples don't end up being normalised.

One thing I would find really helpful would be the ability to send the MIDI out to virtual MIDI ports on the iPad. That way we could figure out ways to route the audio back in via an interface. At the moment I can easily loop the audio back into SynthJacker by simply putting a cable from the output of my interface back…

@stringerrrrr thanks for the listen :) Late 80s Slowcore (Galaxie 500) is exactly the sound I was stealing here, especially in terms of guitar and drums.
-
The drums, bass and synths were performed/sequenced in NS2, the guitars and vocals and final mix were done in Auria: https://soundcloud.com/richardyot/she-cant-be-happy

A new Slate drum kit, this one is based on the Free Orange Tree Jazz-Funk kit: Jazz-Funk Kit

And the app that does this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/midiflow/id879915554?mt=8

This is how I get around the lack of named virtual MIDI input in NS2, it might not work for all use cases though:
-
That's correct. It's possible to work around this in some cases by using the MIDIroute app though.
-
Very nice chilled track. Beautiful sounds there.

Looks like the thread has been deleted on the AB forums.

@coniferprod I don't think it's necessary to zip the files, just names and folder is fine. Then we can import the folder into NS2 using the Files app and point Obsidian to the relevant folder and it will automap everything.
-
@coniferprod thanks for dropping by! A couple of thoughts regarding your post: 1) For Obsidian I think all we need is the right naming and folder structure, nothing more. After that NS2 can take care of the rest, so the option to have 3 folders (one for each velocity layer) with the files named correctly would be…

Thanks, glad you like them!

I've had a few more listens to this since my last post, I love it. The drums and the vibe remind me of Emancipator, it's got a really cool atmosphere, and some great beats and melodies.

Thanks for the listen, much appreciated. I just listened to your track from earlier this month, very nice, it's great to hear such a melodic instrumental.
